AiB Team - Robert Todd and Theri Andino Hand Analysis

North passes, as does East (too flat and too much defense to open 3), but South opens 1. West might as well double now to get it off his chest, and North bumps to 2. Now East is happy to bid 3, which South and West pass. But North has extra values and shape, so he goes for 3, which looks like it will buy it.
South can lose just 1 on a good guess and 2, and then it will be up to the defense to get East his ruff for their 4th trick.

East passes, South passes (though it is tempting to bid 1), West passes, and North finally opens 1, or possibly even 2NT with the extra length. Over 1, this probably gets a 1 overcall from East, 1 from South, and some kind of raise from West (although probably not 4 since partner is a passed hand - maybe just 3.) North would likely just bid 3NT over that, and end the auction.
Now it happens that South could make a minor suit slam because West on lead has the K, but this 3NT in North works because East can't lead without letting declarer have a second stopper. North can come to 5, 5, 1, and 1, but the defense could get 1 and 1 if East leads , which will be hard to do, first.

South passes, as does West, but North is 3rd seat white vs. red, so he can open 1 (or 1) even on this ratty 12. East passes that and South offers 1. North rebids 1NT, and it may just come down to style as to whether South passes that or corrects to 2.
Neither one is going to play all that well for NS, but it does look like they've generally stolen the auction from EW, so that's OK. In NT, North can get 2, 1, 2, and probably some eventual , but the defense has a lot of tricks before that happens. In 2, declarer loses 3, 1, and 1, and then the defense can take a few more tricks by getting East a ruff or two (although that might eat up one of their other tricks.)

West passes and North opens 2. East passes and South tries a forcing 3. Now, happily, North can show his with 3, and NS have a chance to be off to the races. If they play minorwood, 4 here would be very helpful as North shows 1 Keycard (although it's not clear which one it is), but that should be enough for South to bid at least 6. (If there's a way for them to communicate North's void and South's void, there's a chance at the grand, but it's going to be hard after the preempt.)
Sure enough, as long as declarer works on ruffing out the before pulling trump, he can have all 13 tricks!

North has a tough hand, but could preempt at least 3. East can't quite bid over that, and South will now have the critical call. If he gambles on his K as a stopper (or help from partner), then 3NT seems pretty reasonable. But if he doesn't want to bank on that and realizes that partner would have to also have one of the Major Aces to really make this a good idea, he probably just goes for the safer 5 game.
Of course, 3NT would come down to the opening lead - if West tried a Major suit instead of his , South could easily make 3NT. But 5 can't be touched on any lead - declarer just loses the and the (unless the defense leads , in which case he could pitch dummy's after pulling trump.)

East passes, South passes (a lot of unopenable 11 counts so far today), and West could open but may very well pass on these colors. If he does, North could just pass this out. But let's say West does open 1. North doubles for takeout, and East raises to 2. South feels some pressure to bid, so 3 hits the table, and West passes with his subminimum to start with. North passes, and without encouragement, East probably cuts his 3rd-seat-opening partner some slack and passes too.
Taking this positive score does seem best - the defense gets 2, 1, and 2.

South preempts 2 on this really nice suit, although he may be a little nervous about the rest of the hand! West probably feels that he needs to says something here, and while a double isn't really great, it is the best option he has. North bumps to 3, and so East bids 3 to keep 3NT in the picture. (If 3 won't be considered forcing, then he'll have to double or bid 4 or 4, if that's forcing.) Given a chance, West does bid 3NT, and so here we are. (He could also have raised to 4 if East had bid 3.)
A NT contract just has 10 tricks off the top with 4, 1, and 5, so that's not really a challenge. 4 would be a little trickier with the bad split, but declarer could just lose 2 and 1 on careful management.

West passes and North opens 1 with a little shaky Rule of 20 hand but a nice suit. East overcalls either 2 or 1NT - 1NT seems like a better description, and South raises to 2. As long as West can bid a non-forcing 2, he should, and that looks like it buys the contract.
West should be able make this on some careful trump plays. He's losing 1 and 1, and then just has to keep the losers to only 3.
